So imagine this, you get those two pink lines on the pregnancy test and, whether this is a planned baby or not, you're so scared and don't know what to do next. I can help you with that, you contact me; your local doula!

As your doula, I am there for you for whatever you need. If you have a weird symptom, you can text me and ask me what the heck is up!

I help you and your birthing partner prepare for birth and I'll be there by your side when it is time for you to deliver. Sure you'll have a Labor and Delivery team but unfortunately, your nurses can't be with you the ENTIRE time that you're in labor. I'll be there with you every step of the way, explaining anything to you that you need to know, helping you ADVOCATE for yourself, and helping your partner to remember to breathe. Yes, even they need to be told to breathe sometimes!

And then you get home with the baby, NOW WHAT? You're thinking "I can't take care of this tiny human!" So you call me, again, but as your Postpartum doula this time. I come and help you with meal prep, light housework, help with older siblings, and help with breastfeeding. I also make sure you're taking care of yourself and not pushing yourself too much.

Now you're thinking, "this is great and all but I've got my family." While that is very true and shouldn't be ignored, your family likely isn't trained in child birth and what happens during delivery. They may not know anything about how doctor's visits work or breastfeeding.

And all of that, my friend, is why you call me, your doula....AKA your new bestie!
